“You would need more than four cups.”
“It scales up.”

Then they try to put it into symbols:

24 = x10

And the reasoning collapses.

Teachers see this every day.

People misread this as “good at talking but bad at math.”
Or as inconsistency.
Or as random.
It's none of those.

It's a layer split:

The idea vs. the symbols.

The symbols do not.
